m&o: part deux [Above left] Casa Valentina is an Italian decorative-hardware company that Deb was familiar with from Heimtextil, but it was completely new to me. While the company has a full line of very traditional poles, rings, and finials, it was a very contemporary collection that caught my eye. Jane, Priscilla, and Tiffany are the new introductions, combining highly polished aluminum with respectively, leather, exotic wood, and crystal. Another great aspect of the Casa Valentina line was one of its presentation pieces, a velvet-lined wood box where the finials and rings nestled like precious jewels. www.casavalentina.it Represented in the US through The Surface Company, msurface@kc.rr.com. [Above right] While Casamance introduced some nice fabrics and two very interesting wallpaper lines, it was a niche collection of holdbacks and trims that caught my eye. The spokesperson I dealt with at the stand referred to the little glass drops as window jewelry, and that seems to be as good a description as any. Several of the panels in the stand, each with extra-deep grommeted hems, were adorned with these colorful jewels. www.texdecor.com WF 36 May 2007 www.window-fashions.com
